It is also rumored that the the "Big-Foot" or its equivalent has been sighted by some climbers.  These sightings have never been confirmed though.  Whether it was a passing shadow playing tricks on the eyes or some other reasons, nobody can say for sure.  Who knows, maybe it is really there.

Every year, thousands of people scale its peak.  Book early if you intend to climb the mountain.  Apart from occasional rain, it is accessible throughout the year.

Golfing in Sabah

Definitely a golfers paradise.  From beautiful courses by sandy seaside to high altitude golfing,  Sabah has it all.

Take a swing at Dalit Bay Golf & Country Club and let Mount Kinabalu watch you play at all the 18 holes.  The mountain does get a little shy though and hides behind thick clouds.  This usually happens in the afternoon.  But Mount Kinabalu does make a habit of taking a peek at those golfers still playing into the sunset and to remind them that is has always been there.

Just across the lagoon from Dalit is the Karambunai Golf Resort, another must for all golfers.  Nestled between the hills and the sea, Karambunai offers a picturesque and welcoming ambience.  Just remember that it also holds many tricks that baffles those golfers who try to be somewhat too friendly with it.  Nevertheless it is fun at the end.

For the adventure golfers, test your handicap at the Mount Kinabalu Golf Resort for a real top of the world golfing.  At almost 2,000 metres above sea level and being an integral part of Mount Kinabalu, this is easily the highest course in the region.  The breeze and the terrain will definitely brings the chill even to the most experience golfer.
